This is great! I live just down the road in Lake Forest and often drive around this area dreaming of a simpler, rural life and couldn't imagine a more suitable abode amongst the beautiful ancient oaks! Fun to find out you are the architect of this and the Muth Interpretive Center which I have also frequented and enjoyed! Thanks for sharing this. What a dreamy place!

awwwww... :( .... sad to hear Dave has passed...I bought all his CD's and listen to them all the time. He used to keep me posted on his CD's...Never heard from him for a few years...now I know why.......Hope the piano up there is to his liking ....

I just found this farewell. I didn't realize that Dave had left us. The last time I talked to him was about ten years ago. He was a great guy and an excellent musician. I'm sure he'll be missed by many people. I met Dave at the Hock Shop back in the day. Wow! Long time ago now. Dave once said to me, "I have amazing memories of those days" and so do I, including memories of Dave.

I used to go to the Hockshop on Hollywood Boulevard where he and Spencer Quinn had their stage show. We got to be friends a bit later.

Site #58 @ Furnace Creek. I used google maps to try and find the best location (trees, somewhat away from the sites and close to the rest rooms). We actually had several camp sites to accommodate a large group of friends.

Got to gathering in Elko, told my freinds all about Dave! He always played Garryowen for me . He knew me as General Custer from the Montana indian (Crow) reenactment. I have been sad ever since i found out. We always had a special chat together in the museum area where it was alittle quieter. Seeing that piano parked alone against the wall was a feeling i cant expect anybody to understand. I visualized him playing on those yellow telephone books and his happy smile. The best i can think of is that those heaven people are sure having the time of their life listening to Daves music and we are waiting again and again. General Custer, Capt. Nice work Ron. I will be adding it to the saloonpiano.com website soon. The professor was always like a second dad to me. Always full of great stories and knowledge of music. He introduced Jason and I to reggae in the early 80's and it turned into a prosperous career (urbandread.com). He is greatly missed but his spirit lives on :)
